In designing a series of five exhibition posters for the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich in 2005, as well as the invitations derived from the posters, the aim was to give succinct expression to the subject matter of the individual exhibitions, on the basis of a theme and variations, while at the same time focusing the attention on the serial character of the event – though without falling into a rigid and anonymous unanimity. The various content of the exhibitions has been interpreted with the help of pictorial and typographic resources. These combine to give rise to original pictures which probe the field of tension between image and text. These pictorial creations take pains to distance themselves both from the postmodern flood of images and from a functional layout template.
